The campaign to Save British Landscape Architecture is a means to providing recent graduates with a 2 week work experience placement in a practice near you. As a result of this campaign, we are happy to announce that Groundwork West Midlands in Tipton, near Dudley, West Midlandsare looking for a recent graduate to place in their office for 2 weeks, as part of the Save British Landscape Architecture campaign.
Groundwork West Midlands is one of the Federation of Groundwork Trusts which operate Nationwide. We employ a small team of part time landscape architects, working on a range of projects. We work with colleagues to develop communities and support them in transforming green spaces in deprived neighbourhoods. We work with housing associations, residents and community groups, local authorities and schools creating community focussed design solutions. We work across the West Midlands from Stoke in the North to Coventry and Birmingham.
You should be a graduate of landscape architecture and live within a commutable distance of their office in Tipton. The placement is a non paid placement so all costs should be considered before applying and you should not commit to the position if you feel you might struggle to meet the added costs involved as a result of being on this placement. All reasonable expenses will be met.
You will be given work as the practice see’s fit and will have the chance to see how a professional landscape practice/landscape department works in the real world.
