Job Description: 

My exclusive client is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Chartered Landscape Architect to become part of their multi-disciplinary team of Landscape Architects, Urban Designers and Town Planners.

My client is one of the leading development consultancies in Scotland, primarily promoting proposals for major mixed-use settlement expansions, residential developments and leisure developments.

With a strong emphasis on Green Infrastructure, sensitive landscape design is inherent in all of their design proposals.

Working on projects for leading house builders and land developers, their services include the preparation of masterplan proposals for all types of planning applications, from planning permission in principle to detailed design.

Work undertaken includes:

  • Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs);
  • Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs);
  • Masterplanning;
  • Landscape Design and Specification;
  • Green Belt Assessments;
  • Settlement Character Assessments; and
  • Design Statements and Development Framework Reports.

Their goal is to make their clients’ planning outcomes understandable, transparent and robust, taking into account planning policy requirements.

Key skills required for the role are:

  • Chartered member of the Landscape Institute (LI) or similar accredited international body;
  • Proven track record in preparing LVIAs, including as part of EIAs;
  • Experience in landscape design and hard and soft detail landscape specification. Masterplanning experience would also be beneficial but not essential;
  • Proficient in the following software - MS Office; Vectorworks (or AutoCad); Adobe InDesign and Photoshop;
  • Experience in GIS and Windfarm is desirable;
  • An excellent communicator who can work with others in the project team to meet project budgets and deadlines;
  • Capable in written, oral and graphic presentation;
  • Willingness to develop knowledge and keep up to date with current issues through CPD events and technical literature; and
  • Full UK driving licence.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Landscape Architect to looking to progress to Senior who will take a lead role within a respected consultancy, acting as the main client interface and taking projects from inception to completion.
